Rollins Getting Ready…
This report appeared on ESPN.com around 7:00 PM ET tonight…
PHILADELPHIA — Injured Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins is going to extended spring training next week, though it’s uncertain when he’ll begin playing in rehab games.
General manager Ruben Amaro Jr. says Rollins is progressing and he’ll return at the appropriate time. Rollins, the 2007 NL MVP, has been sidelined because of a right calf strain since April 13.
Rollins will go to Philadelphia’s spring training facility in Clearwater, Fla. on Sunday. Once he’s able to run sprints, he’ll need about three to five rehab games to be ready to rejoin the Phillies, Amaro says.
