Articles the last day or so have talked about how Game #1 in the NLDS between the Phillies and Colorado Rockies will go a long way to determine who will move on to the Championship Series. They have also talked about how the pitching is going to be so important as well.
But in the end, if the defending champs do exactly what they need to do, then they will march on to meet either the Cardinals or Dodgers.
There are two things the Phillies need to do. First, they need to win these two games at CBP. Philadelphia finished the year with a pedestrian 45-36 home record, but they went 33-14 from July 1st on… including taking two of three from these Rockies.
Second, the Phillies had the best road record in baseball at 48-33, including winning two of three from the Rockies in April.
Take care of what they have done best this year and the Phillies will move on to the next round.
